One of the highest forms of change and transformation is fully accepting yourself. It can be difficult, mostly because it is contrary to the many things that we are taught since childhood. It is also antithetical to the philosophy of marketing and advertising. In other words, if we become too accepting of ourselves then we’re not going to buy all of the things that promise to remove the insecurities that we all have within ourselves.

Given my ongoing interest in marketing and advertising however I have decided to write my own marketing spiel, an advertisement for acceptance…

Accept everything about you. Every thought you have, every part of your body you don’t like, every emotion, anxiety, weakness and strength. Radically accept who you are right now. Radically accept who you were. Radically accept who you are to become.

If you have a bad thought, accept it. If you feel judgmental of yourself or someone else accept it. Accept all things. Accept it all. Accept everything that runs through you head.

If you plan on doing something or just did something that you are worrying about, accept that your contribution is always a unique gift. No matter how it might turn out.

Accept who you. Accept your past. Accept your frailties, accept your deepest vulnerabilities and insecurities, things about your body that you think are too big or too small. They are all your most beautiful gifts. In fact send additional love and acceptance there. Make it completely radical acceptance.

Everything you don’t accept is a lost gift. Every part that you or society has judged as being bad or not good enough is a part of you that the world is denied. Accept your laugh, your smile, your teeth, your insecurities and your pain. Accept your beautiful tears.

Love and accept everything. Then love and accept everyone else.

Then watch how your mind calms, see how your power grows. And feel how your happiness blooms.

One of the most radical ways to instantaneously create a deeper sense of peace and love within ourselves is to simply stop, sit, and ask the question: ‘What is the most loving choice I can make for myself right now?’

When we do this we automatically shift into the body and gain direct access to the love and kindness we all have within our ourselves.

Paradoxically, the response to the question: ‘What is the most loving choice?’ is often the exact opposite of the task our mind currently has us performing.

We may be rushing around, working, cleaning, paying the bills and raising the children but in the process are not resting, nor being kind or loving to ourselves.

A powerful and life altering meditation technique that is available to all of us at any given moment is to simply sit and ask the question: “What is the most loving choice I can make for myself right now?” Then wait…and listen to the response, without judging it.

And then see where it takes you.
